Sagarika was launched by the President of India on the Technology Day on the 11th of May in 2016. In its
short
life, Sagarika has gained farmers acceptance all across India due to its excellent efficacy, and now is
applied
at over 30 Lakh Hectares. Due to its positive impact on the farmers’ incomes as well as the environment
it has
received a lot of accolades and recognition. Sagarika has many certifications and is approved for use in
many
global markets like USA, Australia, South Africa, Zimbabwe etc.
Certifications:
NPOP – NATIONAL PROGRAM FOR ORGANIC PRODUCTION
National Program for Organic Product is a program under the Government of India
which
provides standards for organic production, systems, criteria and procedures for licensing of
Certification
Bodies. Sagarika is certified and recognised as India Organic under this program and carries
the organic
tag in India.
NOP – NATIONAL ORGANIC PROGRAM
Sagarika has been certified under the National Organic Program which is a
federal
regulatory program that develops and enforces consistent national standards for organically
produced
agricultural products sold in the United States. Sagarika is certified organic in the USA
under this
Program.
EU ORGANICS – EUROPEAN UNION ORGANICS
The European Organics Program defines the standards for all organic products
that are
produced in any of the countries included in the European Union. The impetus behind the EU
Organic
certification was the goal of producing healthy food with maximum nutrition and minimal
environmental
impact. This certificate recognises that any crop harvested after the use of Sagarika in the
European
Union can be labeled as organic.
COR – CANADA ORGANIC REGIME
The Canada Organic Regime regulates all parties involved in the certification
of organic
products (including operators, Certification Bodies and Conformity Verification Bodies) and
verifies all
applicable regulatory requirements, standards and guidance documents are being met. Under
the Canada
Organic Regime, Sagarika is certified organic in Canada.
OMRI – ORGANIC MATERIAL REVIEW INSTITUTE
Organic Material Review Institute is an international non-profit organization
that
determines which input products are allowed for use in organic production and processing.
OMRI Listed
products are allowed for use in certified organic operations under the USDA National Organic
Program
(NOP).
CDFA – CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF FOOD & AGRICULTURE
The CDFA Organic Input Material (OIM) Program registers fertilizing materials
to be used in
organic crop and food production. Under this Program, Sagarika is recognised as an organic
agricultural
input in the state of California.
DUNS
The Data Universal Numbering System, or DUNS registration analyses businesses
and provides
them an exclusive number if the business is verified. Aquagri Processing Private Limited
(APPL), the
manufacturer of Sagarika has DUNS registration, which gives it credibility and
creditworthiness while
proving its authenticity.
Patents:
The technology for manufacturing the product is patented
and
applicable globally by CSIR-CSMCRI.
